Shared With the World. Made in Ukraine.

Yesterday, a Ukrainian teenager named Yeva Dovbysh handed me a bookmark she had made.

She didn’t say much. Just — “This is for you.”

But look at what she wrote on it.

“Shared with the world. Made in Ukraine.”

Yeva is a teenager living in a country that has been at war her entire teenage life. And yet she made something by hand — and gave it away.

I don’t know everything that happened in her heart this week. But I know that a teenager who writes “Made in Ukraine” on something she’s proud of is a teenager who hasn’t lost herself to the war.

Something is still burning in her. And this week, you helped fan that flame.
