Join Hands in Prayer: Lifting Belgium’s Festival of Hope Together

Thanks to your generosity, on September 27 we’ll join the Billy Graham Evangelical Association’s Festival of Hope in Brussels.

With more than 500 churches participating from 20 mainline denominations and 9,000 registered to attend (plus an available 5,000 overflow capacity), this is a BIG deal for a small country like Belgium.

The organization team, led by our friend Allyster Taubeneck, has been hard at work preparing for this evangelistic event for more than a year.

“I Am Andrew”
Much of the groundwork has involved rallying the churches at the grassroots level to encourage them to attend and bring an unsaved friend. A recent campaign called, ‘I Am Andrew’ focused on this strategy.

“After Andrew met Jesus, he went to find his brother, Simon Peter, so he could introduce him to the Messiah,” said Allyster. “Our message to Belgian believers is that you might be the only person in someone’s life who can bring them to meet Jesus. Their ‘Andrew’, if you will.”

Most churches are coming to the event on a free bus provided by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

“During the ‘I Am Andrew’ campaign, our challenge to each church was to fill the bus with 50% believers and 50% unbelievers,” said Allyster.

Join Hands in Prayer
Allyster says the team is asking for people around the world to pray for the following:

  • That many would be reached with the message of the gospel
  • For the Holy Spirit to prepare the ground to receive this message
  • And to pray for volunteers, staff, worship leaders and speakers

Thank You Again
Thank you for making it possible for us join this historic evangelistic outreach. We look forward to bringing you reports about how God works through the ‘Festival of Hope.’

Please join hands in prayer for Belgium this week with believers around the world. Pray for the lost, the volunteers, staff, worship leaders and speakers. Also, please pray for safety for all.
