You Gave Matvey a Week of Refuge from War

Before the war with Russia began, Matvey was a normal Ukrainian teenager who attended school, enjoyed sports, and hung out with his best friend.

But soon after the shelling started, Matvey and his family had to move to a safer area in Ukraine.

They soon found it difficult to buy food and medicine. “Everything stopped working,” said Matvey.

But when Matvey needed help the most, your gift made a difference.

You helped make iYouth Camp possible for Matvey and gave him a week of refuge from the fear, shortages, and sleepless nights.

“I enjoyed sleeping peacefully, eating delicious food, and spending time with friends,” said Matvey. “The small group meetings, workshops, and stories shared by the speakers fed my soul. And I really enjoyed recreation!”

Matvey says that the Spirit of God touched him during evening services. “On the last day, my new friends from Belgium prayed for me,” he said. “That was special.”

“Thank you to the team of ministers, organizers, and supporters who made the camp in Germany possible for those of us who came from Ukraine,” he says. “It was a bright spot for us.”

And we add our ‘Dyakuyu’ (Ukrainian for ‘thank you’) for strengthening Matvey and the 29 other Ukrainians who attended the youth camp in Germany this summer.
