I met Jordan and Holly Robbins in Utah during a visit with friends Robert and Donna Marshall.
As I shared the vision of the European Worship Institute with the worship team at the Marshall’s church that weekend, something stirred within the Robbins’ hearts.
Soon after, Jordan, a drummer, and Holly, a violinist and vocalist, began serving on the EWI teaching staff and have become an integral part of the team.
I wanted you to hear their story.
It Ignited a Spark in My Heart
Jordan and Holly met at the University of Idaho where they served in a worship band for a campus ministry. After marrying in 2008, they moved from their native Idaho to Salt Lake City, found jobs, and began serving on their church worship team.
“When Jeff shared about the Worship Institute at our church, it ignited a spark in my heart,” said Jordan. “We spent time in prayer asking The Lord to guide our steps and provide a path to serve with EWI and it has become one of the favorite parts of our lives!”
“I’ve loved the surprises and blessings that have come along the way,” said Holly.
What Surprised Me the Most
Some of those surprises have been new friends. For example, the first year they came, Holly bonded with Immerse camp participant Laurie, and Jordan made a friend in a fellow teacher named Paul.
“What surprised me the most was the depth of our conversations,” said Holly. “We have discussed faith, doubt, suffering, dysfunction, trouble, hope, belonging, and other deep topics.”
“Paul loves The Lord and all things music – from production to live sound to finding amazing keyboard and bass tones,” said Jordan. “Our friendship is a tremendous blessing.”
As Good As It Gets
Not only has God given Jordan and Holly a heart for the people, but also for the country.
“With each event and interaction with the team, my heart grows for Belgium and Europe,” says Jordan. “There is such a beautiful unity we experience as the body of Christ. And when we come together to serve The Lord from different countries, cultures, and languages, the result is life-giving.”
Holly loves ministering at EWI events because the participants come ready and expectant. “There’s an energy and intention as everyone mutually builds each other up and honors the King,” says Holly. “Rooms full of people, passionate to pour out adoration and love for the Savior is as good as it gets.”
Jordan is vice president of operational excellence for a national legal services firm and Holly is an operations officer and vice president for a local Utah bank. Their two sons, Elliott and Wesley traveled with them in March to EWI events in Germany and Belgium.
