Supporter Spotlight: Pastor Bobby and Patti Kuhn

“Missions Is the Heartbeat of God!”

By Jeff Slaughter

After completing a year of missions work at Brussels Christian Center in Belgium, Bobby and Patty Kuhn returned to their native Mississippi to plant a church. More than ten years later, they still have a heart for Belgium, expressed, in part, by supporting our ministry.

In this interview, Bobby shares his heart for Belgium and why he and Patty believe in strengthening European leaders.

Jeff: After spending a year of living and serving in Belgium, what did you find are some of the greatest spiritual needs in Europe?
Bobby: I believe some of the greatest spiritual needs are spiritual hunger, leadership, and resources that would strengthen believers.

Jeff: What impact did serving in Belgium have on you guys?
Bobby: Belgium changed us. As challenging as it was, it was one of the greatest experiences of our lives. Belgium will always have a place in our hearts as we have many dear friends there. And Europe is still a spiritual focus for us as we believe that God has something great planned for the countries of Western Europe.

Jeff: Tell me about the missions program at your church?
Bobby: Move Church is a non-denominational church that supports six missionaries monthly. Our vision is to support missionaries who don’t have a denominational network for raising support, as it is much harder for them without that.

Jeff: Why is involvement in missions important to the local church?
Bobby: I have always been taught that missions is the heartbeat of God. The local church must play a role in reaching people in the furthermost countries. By doing so, the church will be blessed by being a part of something much bigger. It also fosters an environment for others to be called to missions.

Jeff: Why do you guys support our ministry?
Bobby: We believe in the work you are doing to equip, train and encourage lay leaders in Europe. In addition, you guys hold a special place in our hearts: when we were praying about coming to Europe more than a decade ago, out of the blue, you showed up at the church where we were serving in Mississippi. God used you as a confirmation to our call to Belgium.

Jeff: Can you think of anything else you’d like to add about Belgium or missions?
Bobby: I believe God is raising up the church again in Belgium and Europe to be full of His Spirit to reach a generation without Him and to transform culture. And we feel called to be a part of that!
