Meet Jeff
“We moved out to the country when I was 13 years old and started attending a small church where the pianist had just passed away. The church folks heard I could play and before I knew it, I was the church pianist! It was a great opportunity to grow as I played every Sunday morning, evening and Wednesday service. I’ve since served as pianist, vocalist and worship leader at churches in Louisiana, Mississippi, France and Belgium.”
Jeff graduated from East Texas Baptist College in 1983, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with majors in business and public relations. Professionally, Jeff has worked in healthcare public relations in Shreveport, Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi.
He also has written and produced several musical dramas including a Christmas play available at: www.christmas-at-bethlehem-inn.com, and makes Belgian-style chocolate to support our ministry (www.chezslaughterchocolate.com)
Meet Kathy
“I spent my teenage years serving in the church, involved in both music and children’s ministries. I even drove a bus for the children’s ministry, which was no easy feat for a girl of my size. Today, I enjoy serving others with my culinary, artistic and seamstress skills.”
Kathy graduated from Louisiana State University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, specializing in elementary, secondary and special education. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, she worked in homebound special-ed teaching.
Jeff and Kathy have three children: Kayleigh, Justin and Nicholas, one son-in-law, Phillip Plette, and two adorable grandchildren.
