Ever wondered what it would be like to go to Europe with me and visit historic sites, learn about the culture, my ministry and serve at one of my events?

With our new Go With Me experience, now you can!

I’m planning a Go With Me: On Tour & On Mission trip for a small group of believers to go with me to Brussels and Bruges July 18-25, 2020.

This experience offers you an opportunity to:
• Visit some of my favorite historical sites in Brussels, Waterloo and Bruges.
• Meet some of our long-time friends and ministry colleagues.
• Learn about the Belgian culture and the European church.
• Attend and serve at ‘Immerse’, our annual worship camp.
• And more!

Here are some details about the trip:

Schedule
The heart of the ‘Go With Me’ experience is to mix touring and getting to know Brussels with learning about our mission and what God is doing in Belgium.

Touring: You will arrive in Brussels on a Sunday. If you arrive in time, we’ll head to Brussels Christian Center where you can worship at the church at which we served for 14 years.

Then over the next few days,we will visit such historical spots as: the Waterloo Battlefield where Napoleon ‘met his Waterloo’; Villers-la-Ville Abbey, a 1000-year old Abbey which provides an unbelievable backdrop for photos; and the Grand Place which has been called by many ‘the most beautiful town square in Europe’. We’ll also spend a day in Bruges, often called, ‘Venice of Northern Europe.’

Serve: Then we will shift to the task of preparing for Immerse 2020, a worship camp that I organize and direct. You will serve on the admin team which may involve helping with registration, showing Immerse participants to their rooms, preparing coffee breaks (and cleaning up!), and serving in other ways as needed or in relation to your gifting. You’ll be free to attend general sessions, workshops and breakouts per your interests. This will give you the first hand benefit of experiencing one of our events while also serving Europeans in ministry.

And more: I’ll add more things to our itinerary as we move forward. And because we’re a small group, we can make some decisions together on where to go, what to eat and what to do. In other words, when we can, we’ll be flexible with our schedule to allow time for exploration and serendipitous moments.

After Immerse: Immerse Camp ends Friday evening July 23. After one more fun-filled day in the Brussels area, I’ll take you to the airport on Sunday, July 25  where we will say our goodbyes!

Lodging:
To keep costs down and to let you experience Europe the way I do, our lodging accommodations will be modest. If rooms are available, we will stay in rooms at Continental Theological Seminary during the entire ‘Go With Me’. CTS is a beautiful campus located just west of Brussels. Even though you’ll feel like you’re away from the city, we’re just a short drive to grocery stores, the metro and a BEST chocolate outlet shop where you can enjoy unlimited tasting!

Transportation:
We will travel together in a large car or small van. I’m asking everyone to bring one suitcase and one carry-on and to travel as lightly as possible. Remember that you’ll want to take some souvenirs home and will need to leave room and weight in your luggage for these.

Meals:
When we are at CTS, we will take breakfast in the school cafeteria. During the first few days we will be out most of the day so we’ll plan picnic lunches or eat out. We will also make regular trips to a grocery store where you can purchase snack foods, fresh fruit, etc. according to your preferences.

Before Immerse, I’ll take you to some of our favorite food spots that might possibly include:
* A small Chinese restaurant we’ve been going to for 18 years.
* An Italian ‘Trattoria’ that has wonderful oven-baked pizzas.
* A Greek restaurant that makes great pitas and frites (french fries).
* A place where you can get an authentic Belgian waffle – hot off the press.
* An Belgian restaurant in the heart of Waterloo.
* The Neuhaus seconds shop where you can sample chocolate until you’re sick and buy chocolate at a discount.
* ‘The Farm,’ an amazing bakery out in the country where you can pick out your own breads and pastries. You will LOVE this place!

Shopping: Before Immerse Camp, I’ll make sure you have some time to do some shopping for souvenirs and gifts. The Grand Place is a great place for that as well as a local grocery store called, ‘Carrefour’. You’ll need to do all of your shopping before Immerse because there won’t be another chance once the camp starts!

Clothes:
Belgian weather is full of unknowns but it is likely to be warmly comfortable and possibly even hot (to American standards). Brussels is known for rain and while it might slow us down, we won’t let it deter us from our daily excursions! So also bring a light raincoat or parka, as well as a portable umbrella.

Costs:
The price for this ‘Go With Me’ is $1500 and includes lodging, transportation in Belgium, all snacks and meals, entrance fees to the historic sites and honorariums for a couple of the folks we’ll spend time with.

A deposit of $500 is payable on registration with the second installment due May 1 and the final installment due June 1.

You’ll be responsible for your flight to Belgium and spending money for things such as souvenirs, snacks and coffee when we’re on the road.

Important Note:
This tour requires a minimum of two participants and a maximum of four participants. If you are the first to register, please don’t buy your ticket to Brussels until I have a confirmed second participant!

If you want to ‘Go With Me’, please let me know and I’ll tell you how you can submit a $500 deposit. This deposit is refundable if we do not achieve the minimum viable number of two participants.

Deadline for registration is May 1, 2020. By then, we’ll need to know if you’re going or not so others can make flight reservations.

Interested? Please complete the form below and I’ll send more information as the trip develops. In the meantime, if you’re a member of our ‘Elevate Europe’ private Facebook group, watch for updates there as well. And if you’re not a member of that private group, complete the form below and I’ll add you!
